one of my interests is/was this idea submitted (in sept ’08) for consideration in google’s 10 to 100 project…
“nowadays basic schooling shouldn’t keep fooling itself without teaching students about illusion”...
(in short)…
“one of my interests is/was an idea for google 10-100 sept ’08… it’s adding a helpful school education class for students…
for while schools teach kids knowledge to store in their minds and use… too many students don’t know how standard human perception uses illusion in its natural thought processes…
so it’s important for all children’s well-being and future that they become aware of how illusion can distort and transform something from being seen “as it actually is”… into something altogether different when thoughts already in the mind create their own pictures and use them as substitutes…
hence as new insightful consideration shows students how illusion works… those mental pictures that resurface as ignorant racial bias or fanatical religious intolerance or stupified street gang mentality etc are less apt to make an impact…
as this new course gives them awareness of alternatives… and hence a benefit for all children to learn through simple child-geared terms…
”
(longer original version)…
“hiya folks!… my idea is to add a much needed course to the regular curriculum education classes for elementary and/or secondary school students…
for while these schools teach kids all kindsa knowledge and formulas to store in their minds and use at times… too many students are left in the dark as far as understanding how everyone’s standard human perception including that of their very own uses so much illusion in its natural thinking-patterned thought processes…
and in a world where people are strangers to each other as much as they are strangers to their own selves… (as most folks aren’t even sure of what illusion really is other than theatrical or optical illusion)… it’s important for the sake of the well-being of our world’s children and their futures… that through the use of simple terms and means being shown to them in school… they’ll become familiar with the ways illusion can distort and separate and transform something from being seen “as it actually is”… into being something else altogether different when thoughts that are already in the mind create their own pictures and use them as substitutes…
and when insightful consideration gets a chance to show students how illusion works… those other mental pictures that resurface as ignorant racial bias or fanatical religious intolerance or stupified street gang mentality or whatever etc are less apt to make greater impacts… as this newer school course will give them the awareness of other alternatives too…
so it really is an important benefit for all children and everyone to have the opportunity of learning these things as part of their normal schooling… which can be accomplished through simple child-geared layman’s terms and means after teachers themselves are refreshed in this subject matter before teaching it…
this (overall idea) helps address some’a the problems people have from not knowing any better and ending up being hoodwinked into starting or participating in potentially harmful situations… because on the very simplest basic level of learning they haven’t had any classroom chances to realize how standard human perception can easily end up with various illusion-based ideas…
and when there’s unawareness it can easily mislead those mindsets into different unfair social and racial prejudices and biases etc… and that can eventually build up and act outwardly into further dangerous and destructive scenarios… leaving people suffering from the effects of not knowing any better…
and with the world becoming more’n'more crowded… and with all kindsa mindsets behind trigger fingers and control buttons these days… this overall awareness for children’s minds to consider and realize how illusion is behind so many ideas… is urgently needed now more than ever!…
if this idea becomes a reality then children and their futures will benefit the most… as well as others benefitting too… and they will become more aware of how standard human perception includes illusion in its processes… and how that illusion may or may not play out in this world we all live in… and the awareness of that will spread…
and hopefully young and future generations will become more aware of how theirs and others’ perceptions use illusion… and how that illusion ends up behind so many ideas… and then with that added realization they’ll gain a further advantage of being more prone to use additional consideration as they live with themselves and each other in our world here!…
(and there’s a preliminary sketch here ready to be made into a poster to hang in school hallways for students to see too)… thank you!”… (sallysense)…

(this is part of a letter that’s goin’ along with complimentary copies of my book in a sallysense… and it’s got some’a the poems’ backgrounds in it)…
~~~
“This letter comes to you from the hand of a new poem-book poet, who not only cares about the well-being of people everywhere, but also simply wants to freely share her verses with others, whether at home or in libraries.
May I say firstly, that my poems weren’t written, nor was this book printed, to make money, and this is not a solicitation for any funds, as you can also find these poems shared freely at my online website http://sallysense.com. (Even royalties from this book, as they occur, are going to charity.) Hopefully, my book will raise awareness, help the disadvantaged, and inspire positive social action.
I am sending complimentary copies of the book to various places, with the hope that the book will be helpful or touch the heart of its readers. Hence with this letter, you’ll find enclosed two complimentary copies of the book in a sallysense… for you and your organization and others too. I hope you will accept these book donations and help them find their rightful place upon your shelves.
This paperback book, in a sallysense…, came about in an interesting way. And later, on another page enclosure, you’ll also find the poem “in a sallysense… note of thanks…” that I wrote for the overseas teacher, stedawa, who happened upon my website, and whose kindness and book knowledge has turned my crude homemade binder-book into a fine paperback book in print.
As for the verses themselves, amid all the different experiences throughout our lifetimes, whether currently or long ago, so many moments pass by partially unnoticed. And so much gets tucked away, only to end up under a latched lid on yesteryear’s treasure trunk stored in some corner crevice of our minds. Among these mementos sit the ones that won’t stay quiet, no matter how recently or far back their storage bin has sat with its hinges closed. And it’s these instances that fill the roots which feed a lot of my writing, through caring about fairness and well-being in human life here and now, while also opening some mindful treasure trunks for those mementos to add their own notations to the present too.
The varied themes in my poems stem from first or second-hand experiences in one way or another, whether in solitude or among similar bonds through others. The book’s generic chapter headings reflect such befitting commonalities, regardless of any further specifics that may follow.
For example, the poem “outside a local venue…” grew from some timeless bonding with a homeless lady I had met, while the poem “that field…” was harvested during an afternoon’s stroll through a farmland’s local countryside.
The time-lapse scenery of mother nature observing her environmental children struggling so hard to survive these days flows through the poem “father’s river…”. And “a soldier’s voice box reports…” is led by service men and women, brave enough to stand up for fair and square when too many calls to duty are based upon falsehoods. A whispered plea from the young and deceased, brings “a soldier’s last breath…” for those who are killed by war.
The poem “a hobo…” describes a simple mealtime shared with me on one of several cross-country treks many years back. And “the peddler…” personifies those wandering travels of someone I’ve known.
Another poem, “step-brother…” , gave recycled paper another job to do… the same summer I fixed my old porch step, rather than buy a new one. The poem “passage writes…” spans enlightenment’s ancestry with royalty.
These examples show just a few of the backgrounds that surround my poems’ foundations.
The book is also home to some of my songs. The poem “signs’a the times…” is a song which keeps a few of mankind’s lined-up consequences in mind, while “heaven on earth…” holds notes of man’s hope in it and was written for an outdoor church service. Several other poems were originally simple songs for a young children’s church choir. The “grandpa…” poem was a ballad for my grandfather that I sang to him at his funeral.
These are just several of the general themes throughout the book. When you open its different chapters, you’ll see many more.
My hope is to simply share my book with others. For it is as its dedication says, “for all human beings on this earthball we call home… these poems are shared with the hope… that somehow or somewhere… they’ll be helpful to folks!…”
Thank you so much for taking a few moments of your busy day to look over my letter and enclosures. I hope you will value the books and will consider carefully their new home(s). I am sending them off like a caring mother watching her grown children make new homes for themselves elsewhere.”
