“what if you’re just faking pain but really feel fine?…
\nthen i’d be such a foolish man to waste my valuable time!”…
\na noggin twitched with consciousness as two eyes glazing back…
\nfluttered as they tried to guess who these ideas flew aiming at…<\/p>\n
“don’t move!”… the voice commanded… “i’ve got new orders too!…
\ni must now report all transients which frankly looks like you!…
\nyou remind me of that pamphlet with enemies’ features underlined!…
\nit includes the latest mandate wanting them all hauled in alive!”…<\/p>\n
a fogged-in view cleared slowly as to focus overhead…
\n“i’m only me and not a foe!”… emerging worry pled!…
\n“been hiking hills until a dog jumped down behind a ledge…
\ni fell into a pile of a logs when it growled and gripped my leg!”…<\/p>\n
“that must be my boy fester!”… the upper hand replied…
\na sharper whistling gesture fetched a guard dog to his side…
\n“what do you say now loyal boy shall we take this stranger home?…

\ni’d started out quite cautiously still not sure if fiend or friend…

“it soon grew inherently obvious that he seemed so much like me…
\nwhich opened up fresh common bonds close by for us to see!…
\nwe’d both heard very similar hype through groups and news and rules…
\nuntil we became familiar with all the exchanges their strings can pull!”…<\/p>\n
“every paper may hand pick its sources and any magazine editorialize!…
\npoliticians might swap phony morals that spur their opponents’ demise!…
\nleaders can deliver illegal laws using puppets to push each one through!…
\ngossip could stir bogus hearsay talk into unverified disavowed news!”…<\/p>\n
“to see an idea before it can grab any squatter rights inside our minds…
\nwe learned to discern probabilities that might leave a worsening behind…
\nlike why copy somebody’s viewpoint if it possibly encompasses lies?…
\nwe’ve got common sense and insight to use and recognize as guides!”…<\/p>\n
“those words make sense”… the landowner agreed shifting in his stance…
\n“i used to take more time to think before quick auto-pilots advanced!…
\nyears back i’d felt a lot like you ’til my head got wrapped with ease…
\nit’s been idling higher in neutral gear due to automatic feeds!”…<\/p>\n

\n’til you fell into your auto mode like some pre-set mechanized toy…
\nguess it’s either you freely decide for yourself or only get one choice!”…<\/p>\n
“now let’s take care of that leg of yours!”… the upper hand declared!…
\n“a hobo drained a snakebite once that led to my foot being spared!…
\nwe’ll clean your wound and chop a stick to help you hobble home…
\nyou may hide out in my side room ’til you can walk well on your own!”…<\/p>\n
a few hours later a knock on the door found the county sheriff there…
\n“got a tip that a wanted man’s been traipsing through fields out here!”…
\n“not that i know of”… the owner replied… “haven’t seen anyone else!…
\nyou can scour my acres or scope this valley and find out for yourself!”…<\/p>\n
“not gonna bother!”… the lawman scoffed… “can’t afford any more men!…
\njust left our regional yearly meeting with a smaller budget to spend!…
\nbut give me call me if you hear anything and i’ll send a deputy out!…
\nand if you see folks in the meantime you can spread the word around!”…<\/p>\n
“been doing a lot of pondering!”… the landowner told others in town…
\n“instead of spreading the sheriff’s word there’s brushing up to talk about!…
\ni’d cut down in thinking for myself or looking at thoughts more carefully…
\nuntil a worthy friend of mine spoke of his own plight so very clearly!”…<\/p>\n
“it’d echoed my mind’s own idleness taking so many say-sos for granted…
\nthen revived my insight to help define if they’re true or false or slanted!…
